About Parkour
Parkour is an urban sport and was developed and practiced in the trees and forests of France just as much as in the cities. Parkour is an activity that can be practiced alone or with others and is usually carried out in urban spaces. Parkour involves seeing one's environment in a new way, and imagining the potential for navigating it by movement around, across, through, over and under its features.

 

The philosophy of Parkour

 

Overcoming obstacles as quickly and efficiently as possible, using only the abilities of the human body, with the intent to escape and reach.

 

Safety first

 

At Jump Up Gym we use progression in our teaching. Progression is building from a safe foundation until you are able to progressively move on to harder and more challenging skills. You learn to look before you leap, know your limits and know the risks. You will learn through controlled progression, based on your own individual abilities and comfort level to avoid injuries.
In Parkour, you are controlling your own body movements, and refining them to be more efficient.
All our Parkour is done in our indoor facility. All surfaces are padded to insure safety for all students.

 

What we teach
